Debate on art on the Rode Loper

PDF

On 19 February 2014 the Rode Loper organizes a debate on the art vision of the Rode Loper that has recently been drawn up by Henk de Vroom by order of the City of Amsterdam.

For the ‘Red Carpet’ – the entrance to the city that goes from the Damrak to the Rokin and the Munt to the Vijzelstraat and the Ferdinand Bolstraat, above the tracks of the Noord/Zuidlijn – an art vision has been drafted by the City of Amsterdam. This vision is about the Art on the Rode Loper. In this vision an answer is being sought to the question:

How can art play a more prominent role here, is there a need for ‘new art’ and which contribution does art actually make to public space?
