The Glass Virus
The Glass Virus and the Gerrit Rietveld Academie are exceptionally happy to announce the first Think Tank for Educational Strategies, held in Amsterdam on February 20, and 21, 2014.
With this event The Glass Virus wants to inaugurate the second part of its platform by invigorating and expanding the discussion on the future of glass art education that was opened at the ‘Issues of Glass Pedagogy’ symposium at Urban Glass in New York.
The prime goal is to bring together professors, teachers and students from academic glass programs worldwide, as well as artists and theorists who are devoted to the issues of glass art education. In regular sessions we want to enhance the discourse by proposing new structures of communication and spinning an active network of glass programs all over the world.
The first gathering of the Think Tank will elaborate on its preliminary tasks, exchanging thoughts, ideas and future plans for the evolving programs and propose strategies and goals that the Think Tank should pursue.
The Glass Virus is extremely glad that the Gerrit Rietveld Academie comes forward to host this event. In order to keep the discussion manageable we have to keep it to a maximum number of participants.
